Characteristic are vigorous and large
bulbed,
outer cloves are fat and round, but inner cloves are irregular and
tall in shape. Coarse and thick wrappers are light purple blotches.
Skins adhere tightly and have 12 to 20 cloves.

Named in honor of
Chester Stevenson who found it growing in an abandoned homestead in Tonasket,
WA about 1960. it develops a smooth mild flavor here on the wet side
of the state. Strong demand by those who want great garlic flavor
without the heat. Good for fresh salads as the flavor compliments
rather than overpowers the taste buds. Very versatile, 10-20
cloves in 4 clove layers.
Inchelium Red.................................$16/pound
Discovered on the Colville Indian Reservation by Larry Geno. A large
bulbed vigorous over 3 inches possible with 4-5 clove layers and 8-20
Cloves. Has a high level of solids for heavier bulbs. Mild but
lingering flavor yields a pleasant aftertaste. Stores till late
spring.

Mild Flavored with a hint of sweetness.
Bulbs over 3 inches are fairly common with 4 clove layers and 10 -20
cloves possible. Few if any small cloves Vigorous and productive.

Sub Species sativum (softneck, braidable)
Highest yielding variety that grows well in a
wide range of soil and climate conditions. Leaves are often narrow
and pale green despite healthy plans. Wrappers are fine and smooth
which makes them very popular with braiders. Three cloves layers
with 12-20 cloves.

harmony farm supply. Stores for a year or more with extremely tight
skins. Last garlic harvested. Large bulbed and sharp flavor when grown
in northern climates.
